Root filesystems are typically small - they don't need to be large. This is a Unix fundamental (sigh) - please understand Unix is a very powerful and fairly complex operating system - you need to keep your root partition lean for good results - look for folders you created a the root level and move them to /home for a cleaner system and a happier unix box.

ps - buy a book on unix/linux and read/understand it will make for a happier unix admin.

This issue has come up quite often in the Qube2 community. Apparently Cobalt set the size of the root partition without taking into consideration updates/patches and the possibility that customers might want to add things like SSH, Port Sentry, Tripwire, etc.

I'd suggest that you check the archives for the Qube2 threads and investigate the ideas mentioned there.
