If you're worried that Cobalt's Postgre DB might get corrupted make regular
backups of it (you should do this anyway) or install a second copy of
Postgre to run on a different port and use that copy for your clients'
databases.  I assume the latter wouldn't cause you to lose support from your
ISP, but check with them to be sure.  If they don't like that solution they
either don't understand server administration or they just don't want to
support your server.
