nope - i already "df"'d and it's fine.

turns out it was with permissions of the var directory. somehow, the sysreset reset the perms of this??

Sound to me like a disk space issue.  Make sure that the disk space allotted
to the user in question is at least twice as big as his email file in
/home/spool/mail.
