The forwarding through the GUI is handled in Sendmail's aliases file at
/etc/aliases. In response to questions about setting up forwards several
people have mentioned using .forward in the user directory (which does
work), but I think that has mislead some people into believing that's what
the GUI uses. If you write a script that changes /etc/aliases be sure to
have it run 'newaliases' when it's done, then restart sendmail to make the
changes active (by doing kill -HUP pid_of_sendmail).
