If both nameservers are working, the route to (response
time) of the nameserver
determines which one may be called. Some foreign nameservers
may cache either
your Master or your Slave, so you never know which one will
receive a request.
My nameservers seem to have twice as many calls to the
Master as the Slave,
and they have both been up since the last time I had to
reboot due to software
updates.
