Is this an autoresponder? <grin> The original poster said he tried
squirrelmail (FYI I use it myself), but he needs something that will let
users signup for accounts via the webmail program. Squirrelmail does not
have that feature.

Have you considered writing your own front-end to create system user
accounts? This would be fairly easy using Perl (if you know Perl) or PHP
running as a CGI. Most webmail programs simply allow a user to access
either any account or accounts given permission to use the program. You can
probably also find an open source program for creating users and email
accounts which could easily be integrated with squirrelmail or another
webmail program to seamlessly allow user registration and account access.
If you are willing to spend money for a program, there are programs that
will do what you want. In fact, someone on the cobalt lists sells such a
program through his company, but I can't recall the name off-hand.
