Yes, I'm familiar with the function of MAPS/RBL.  My suggestion,
however, used the word "like".  That is, to create a central repository,
monitored and requiring some measure of "proof" for addition to the
list, for domains, IP ranges, etc. that are known to house hackers and
make those lists available to the general public in forms immediately
useable by tcpwrappers, etc.

Perhaps I didn't fully explain myself earlier, I'd thought the idea was
implied.  But regardless, there it is.  Now, Chuck has responded
on-list, albeit not with an address to which I can reply, stating that
he's suggested such in the past.  Outside of that, I've not heard anyone
say that they have either suggested, worked on, or would be interested
in such a service.

I'd note that a side effect of *having* such a service would be to
remove the necessity to posts such lists here, giving them a central
repository for same.

In the style of Ben Stein... "Anyone..... anyone....?"
