Hello All,
I have a conflict with a .pkg update.
A couple of days ago, I installed RaQ4-All-Kernel-1.0.1-2.216C24III.pkg.
It hosed the server. I couldn't reboot and the server went down completely.
So, I had our datacenter restore the unit so we could start fresh.
Now, everything is fine. 'Used, the migration utility to restore the 200 or
so sites and the server is fine again. However, I have to re-install all of
the .pkg files (with the exception of RaQ4-All-Kernel-1.0.1-2.216C24III.pkg
which I am scared to mess with now).
Here is my conflict....
When we restored the RaQ4, it had only 4 packages installed.
RaQ4-All-Security Release 0.0.1-8061
RaQ4-All-Security Release 1.0.1-8232
Kurant StoreSense i386 Release 3.2.0.209
Cobalt OS Release 6.0
I want to install RaQ4-All-System-0.0.1-7657.pkg which is an Oct/2000
Frontpage update that is necessary (a pre-requisite) before adding the
RaQ4-en-OSUpdate-1.0.pkg.
However, when I attempt to install RaQ4-All-System-0.0.1-7657.pkg , I get
an error message at the bottom that says 'unable to patch files'.
I understand that this '7657' package is conflicting with one of the other
packages because they seem out of order.
Question: Is it safe to uninstall the following two packages?
RaQ4-All-Security Release 0.0.1-8061
RaQ4-All-Security Release 1.0.1-8232
Question 2; Does anyone know if those packages are the ones conflicting? I
am assuming it is 8061 that is conflicting, maybe because I read or heard
about a similar incident before.
I am calling Cobalt Support tomorrow morning, but if this is something I can
fix, I can avoid the call and save some time because I'm sure my call will
get escalated and Cobalt sometimes does not call back for a couple of days.
