The nameservers for mkcollege.ac.uk are
NS1.VI.NET and NS2.VI.NET
They don't know cms.mkcollege.ac.uk
You say you made an 'A' record,
was it in the mkcollege.ac.uk zone?
was it in NS1.VI.NET?
