Personally I've given up on using a Qube as a gateway ... I deploy them as
just LAN devices. I couldn't get the serial port to work with any of the
modems I had at hand, and since the GUI for the firewall is broken I'm not
prepared to use the 2nd ethernet port.
IMHO you are better with a dedicated hardware device on your LAN. If you
have a modem connection then have a look at the Netgear RM356. If you have
a cable connection a Netgear RT314 would be appropriate. Netgear is not the
only option, there are a number of brands on the market.
