Nizar,
I have a few ideas, but I really do not know if this will work for sure. Before
you try the following, wait a day and see if the more experienced will make
comments about this problem. Since I am a 'Newbie' I'll try to explain it in
detail. Sorry if too basic.
I think that I saw a recent post that stated the older version should be removed
first. I haven't done it yet and I do not know what it will do to all previous
data if anything.
OK, here are a few ideas:
1) I do not know how you tried to uninstall the Webilizer program but here is
how to normally Uninstall and Install patches/programs
A) Installs are located in /var/lib/cobalt (even if you used a *.pkg file). If
the install files are here, then try to reinstall here. I assume that you tried
to reinstall with the http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com/i386/webalizer-1.30.04.i386.pkg
from the http://pkg.nl.cobalt.com site.
B) Uninstalls are located in /var/lib/cobalt/uninstallers
C) use ./filename - with ./ before the filename to run it.
Therefore goto /var/lib/cobalt/uninstallers directory and run the
WebilizerFileName by placing a "./" before the *.uninst filename.
2) BE VERY CAREFUL: Maybe if oyu delete some of the files, that the program
will reinstall???
If all else fails, try to delete the webilizer directories manually. You can
find the files by using the locate command.
A) First update the file directory database by running "updatedb" . It takes
about a minute to complete.
B) Find the files by locating the name by using the 'locate command', like
"locate webalizer"
C) Remove Directories and all files in it by "rm -R DirectoryName". Look in the
directory to make sure that you are not clearing anything else????
D) Try reinstalling and Uninstalling by using the Uninstall command as stated in
1B and 1C above.
