One of my clients hosts their mail in house and my ISP provides DNS so I
had them set up an MX record. Email works fine using POP clients. The
problem is with a perl script. I got to the root of the problem buy
using sendmail from the command line. /usr/sbin/sendmail -bv
user@xxxxxxxxxx produces a user unknown. Basically, sendmail ignores the
MX record and tries to send the mail locally.
Go to the control panel under email server. Make sure the domain name is
not listed in the "Accept Mail for These Domains" box.
Also, make sure you didn't setup an email server alias for them when you
setup the virtual site (in the site settings panel).
