Re:zcat: stdout error in Cron scripts...
According to Steven Bell:

Okay...Just today I started getting that zcat: stdout error. Like a good
RTFM-subscriber, I went and checked the archives. I found this solution
post...
http://list.cobalt.com/pipermail/cobalt-users/2001-March/037272.html
(exerpts included above to avoid the dreaded Top Posting flamethrower. :) )
BUT -- when I check my files according to this post, they *are* all still
linked correctly.
Any ideas? Do I need to touch, finger, poke, or prod them in some way to get
them to play nice again, or should I just ignore the errors? My only
cron.weekly job is makewhatis.cron, so it's not a vital thing anyway. I
barely use the Man pages at all. But it's weird. makewhatis.cron runs in
my daily schedule too with no problem, but it uses the -u -w flags, and not
just the -w flag...Could my cron.daily and cron.weekly be bumping into each
other somehow?
Thanks, y'all! If someone knows the answer and can post it, I'd appreciate
it. Otherwise, I'll just ignore the errors until my machine bursts into
flames or something. :)
Have a great weekend..Oh, wait. It's Sunday. I hope you all had a great
weekend, then. :)
