I easily compiled and installed 3.23.33 from source without any out
of the way tinkering other than my own personal preferences for linking,
locations etc. Use rpm to uninstall the 3.22 stuff, add your own startup
line to rc.local or similar (depending again on your preferences) by
calling mysql.server supplied startup script and your gtg with no hassles
that I encountered.
