I've run a UBB system since version 1 (about three years) -- not bad, but
has some problems. They do have a freeware version, kind of bare bones --
then their are a few others available as well. These details can be gone
into if we get someone to supply the box and time.

I prefer the stream of consciousness way a linear board presents discussion
as apposed to the mailing list paradigm.

The nice thing is that we can modify the script to forward a copy of every
post to the board to an email address; say a forum-mirror-list? Of course it
would quite a bit more work to allow posts to be *submitted* by email - but
you could still reply on the mirror list.

It, of course, would be better if it was endorsed by Cobalt, and even better
if they provided the box.
