Look guys, this thread *truly* must end.
I'm no listcop, but seriously this has been beaten to death numerous
times. Here's the wrapup as I see it:
Regardless of personal preferences, (i.e. top vs bottom posting) if you
join a list, you accept the conventions of the list...period. In this
instance, bottom posting is required, and the custom is announced with
reasonable regularity.
To whine, or endlessly pound on the "I don't think this is right" theme is
meaningless...and actually *does* clog up people's mailboxes with crap.
Either start your own list and set your own rules, or accept the
conventions of the list you belong to.
Finally, Outlook behaves like any mail client. It starts at the top of a
page in editing (composition) mode. Pine, Mutt, elm KMail all do the same,
but if you're using that as some kind of justification, it's bogus at
best.
