P.S. Trying simply "cobalt chat" without the quotes in the archives led me
to:

as the 5th and 6th results. So, no, the poster didn't have to first know
about IRC to find the info.
P.P.S. I was tempted to simply reply, "What's a chatroom?" to the original
post to see what he was thinking about. Maybe he was going to set up a
www.talkcity.com Java based chat or something.
