Hell, we tell people how to respond and post to this mailing list, maybe
they also need to be taught how to use a simple search engine. Maybe they
would like help with an AOL chatroom, perhaps they cant do /actions?
Does anyone need a step-by-step to tell them how to wipe thier arse
properly?
That was a snide comment. 'Did you think to check the archives for an IRC
channel?' is not a snide comment. at least not in my book.

If you were teaching a class and somone asked you a question, and then
another student asked the same question in the same class about the same
thing... would you answer it? or assume that they were not paying attention?
