I have the same situation which seemed to start after the proftpd .pkg
update. Yes the one that needs updating again <smile>. I have not yet
solved this yet but wish to add a few more things <that is I'm trying to
participate here but Cobalt won't let me as my posts seem directed to
the "crapola bin" and show up so late the thread has already been solved
several times over! hehehehehe>:

1) Usually this happened to me because I deleted then re-added a site
admin. I would then chown the files to match. I wondered what I needed
to do *if* I had two site admins in this case like this post?? need to
set user permissions to 'nobody'?

2) proftpd.conf shows me:

# Umask 022 is a good standard umask to prevent new dirs and files
# from being group and world writable.
Umask 002

I've read many postings about umask which most also refer to Umask of
022 so why is mine 002 and does this have anything to do with the
problem <newbie smile>.

Please, one of the list gurus direct Curtis and myself to a solution :)
