I occasionally get :
> Unusual System Events
> =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=
> Mar 29 20:59:37 admin sendmail[19437]: QAA07859: forward
/var/spool/mail/.forward.admin: World writable directory
> Mar 29 20:59:37 admin sendmail[19437]: QAA07859: forward
/var/spool/mail/.forward: World writable directory
but I cannot work out why, and it's beginning to bug me - I have checked all
the obvious paths (and the /home/spool/... tree) and NOTHING is world
writable, and I have only 1 .forward file in the paths - for user admin, but
def. not world writable.. Yet I still get the messages.
I did a strings on /usr/sbin/sendmail and the messages are hard coded.
There are two such messages - 'World writable directory' and 'World writable
file', so it def thinks a directory is open, but I can find nothing.
Has anyone else ever encountered this???? Any ideas????
