The question was how to do it on RaQ3 and I said Don't learn.
Yes I probably should have said don't learn the GUI do it manually and do
the Updates manually so you KNOW for a FACT that it is what it say's.
I would say to everyone learn how to do DNS but use uptodate software ie
BIND 9.X and do it manually. or get an interface so you can understand
exactly what goes on with Bind.

Yes but the Updates don't always work and they Don't tell you when they
don't work and this can lead to all sort's of trouble. like it did with me
when I thought they had been update and Stupid me did not check. So I got
caught. I won't get caught again and have stoped using the DNS on the
cobalt. I had also the same problems were the rpm for the latest BIND
would not install so I had to move it to another machine and gave up on
the cobalt altogether. Now the cobalt only runs WWW, SMTP and SSH. It was
just to risky to run anything else.
Cust wants FTP they have to use sFTP cust needs Shell access they use SSH
all the risk prone services have been moved off it all together.

Ok yes it is a pain to have someone else to run your DNS but what about
www.zoneedit.com you can do your own DNS in a GUI on the web and keeps the
issue of hacking away from your cobalt.
I m sorry if I was incomplete with what I said and that you all for
clearing that up.
Hope this makes my point of view a little clearer.
