"Don't learn" is a bad option too; it's quite useful to learn how DNS works.
Doing it for real will teach you. But don't run BIND as root ;-) I would
never advocate the "don't learn" route (unless you simply don't have the
time). Learn as much as you can. New knowledge can sometimes expose
opportunities.
Also, delegating DNS to somebody else has its problems. You have to bug
someone every time you want to change things: I have found things happen
much quicker if I can just change them myself.
