Can anybody let me know what this message from PortSentry/Logcheck means? The server addresses below havenothing to do with me. Also is there a place where I can find what all the messages mean, rather than me posting to the list each time I have a query. Thanks, Declan. A "lame server" is one that is not configured correctly; it is supposed to be authoritative for that zone but is not answering that way. In this case, the ns0.insnet.net server; it has nothing to do with you, and you can safely ignore it. The only possible use for this message is if it ever mentions *your* DNS server.
So check your zone files carefully, test with some tool, and filter out this message through logcheck.ignore so it won't bother you again.
