Dead in the water!
I have a Raq that my Colocation Provider and my vendor for my Raq keeps
telling me that they need to check out my problem with Cobalt and then I
never hear back from my provider. It's there...scapegoat line.
Now every few days... at least once a week, my server needs to be
re-booted from there end. I can not telnet to it, I can not access any
web or email services at all.
From the tone of your post, I'm guessing your Cobalt is fairly new, and
that you have not been tinkering "under the covers" so it's probably not
your fault. I can't help you figure out why the RaQ gets stuck, but:
a) Yell and scream, bitch whine and moan, louder each time so you get support.
b) If this has already gone on for a little while, get Cobalt in the loop
directly; make the argument that this box is clearly defective because
so-and-so has worked on it for a long time, and that it should be repaired
quickly or replaced under warranty.
c) Just to be paranoid, do imagine things. Consider all scenarios,
including could someone be doing this to you deliberately. Of course, why
and how are good questions too.
