Dead in the water!
I have a Raq that my Colocation Provider and my vendor for my Raq keeps
telling me that they need to check out my problem with Cobalt and then I
never hear back from my provider. It's there...scapegoat line.
Now every few days... at least once a week, my server needs to be re-booted
from there end. I can not telnet to it, I can not access any web or email
services at all.
I have all the updates installed and these are the series of events leading
up to this problem. And help would be appreciated, and I sure hope COBALT
realizes just how important this list is..... at least the people who help
others out and have helped me out ... Dan K., Carrie...etc.... You guys are
great!
Series of events:
1- Packages have all been up to date.
2- I start to receive admin msgs from server - daily/cron index....error
3- This message stops after 3 days of receiving the message
4- After numerous calls and conversations with my host (I won't say
who...yet)my sites are down and no email can be gotten..... I can't get to
any site at all. Following the conversations I had with them.....
5- "I" reboot my server myself, because for some weird reason I can all of a
sudden get to my site. (Am I imagining things or what????)
6- Everything works after reboot.
Now at 10:27pm on 3-28-01 I am stuck at number 4 again. No one is answering
the phone at the coloc facility and I can't telnet, get to any site, or get
email.... When my phone rings, it's just a customer wondering what the heck
it going on......
Any help is appreciated or any explanation about my weird situation or how a
coloc facility operates with a Cobalt is great appreciated!!!!!!!
Sorry if this is a long message, but I truly feel stuck on a deserted
island.
