Chances are, since I provided the exact phrase "ErrorDocument" on which to
search, he would have no trouble searching either the list archives or the
Apache site. Searching the archive for that would quickly bring you to, (via
the first result), the thread
http://list.cobalt.com/pipermail/cobalt-users/2000-August/017906.html which
should certainly answer the question by simply clicking "Next Message" a few
times.

GSH the Amazing Mind Reader (Coming to a theater near you.) ;-) Or, maybe he
went to the archives, entered ErrorDocument and found the answer, as I did.

No, you don't have to. Nor did it need to be extended by those who post
flames while at the same time saying flaming doesn't belong on the list.
Otherwise the entire thread would have simply ended rather quickly. It's
only the "Don't post flames, don't be a list cop" posts that really filled
up the inboxes. Or, I suppose I'm just supposed to ignore those posts and
not reply while the posters were apparently unable to ignore my posts and
refrain from replying to me? It's quite a double standard many seem to want.

I have never posted GO RTFM. I have pointed people to the archives many
times, usually with either the exact phrase on which to search or even the
URL of a post or thread in the archive.

It's a help list for Cobalt servers, or as every email header says:
List-Id: Mailing list for users to share thoughts on Cobalt products.
<cobalt-users.list.cobalt.com>

I have you beat. I have two.

I'm not sure if you've noticed, but a large percentage of the posts are
asking questions about things that with minimum effort could be found either
in the archives or on Google, or were answered within the past month. Just
joining the list is not even a good excuse anymore as all new subscribers
get a copy of the META FAQ with clear information on where to search.

I don't feel I've flamed anyone who hasn't stooped to personal attacks. In
fact, some of the most vitriolic flames have come from those that routinely
use personal insults in reply to posters on this list. Something I reserve
for spammes.
