It most likely wasn't a bad decision. The RaQs are very specialized
systems and the reason to use them is that their interface automates
what you want done. If you're looking to run a few specific tasts,
unless those tasks are extremely well-managed by the RaQ gui, AND the
rest of the RaQ gui doesn't get in the way of what you want to do, then
a generic machine might well be a much better system for you.
We run freeBSD, BSDi (the version you pay for), RaQs, Red Hat 7,
WNTS/SP4, and W2KAS. They all have their place.
That said, the XTR does have a selection to turn off the "sauce".
