[cobalt-users] view virtual site b4 DNS, and user storage max

Greetings from St. Simons Island, GA - I sent this
email earlier, but have not seen it come through in
over an hour, and did not receive a confirmation, so
if this is a duplicate, please forgive!

I just setup a new RaQ3 - I've been subscribed and
reading this list for a few weeks now, have
downloaded, printed, and read (and re-read) the
manual, and have searched the archives - I've learned
quite a bit!

I have two questions that I've got now that I've spent
a couple of days setting up the Cobalt RaQ3 for
virtual hosting . . .

1) When i setup a name-based virtual site on an IP
(that is shared), is there ANYWAY my client can
preview his site via the web BEFORE his domain is
actually pointing to the IP? (like a
http://users/web, etc address?) - this is for the main
root web site -not the individual users' personal
directory.

2) I setup a new virtual site and set the max storage
to 75MB. I then created the first user (the site
admin), and assigned 75MB max storage to the user
(thinking that was 100%). Then, I created a 2nd user,
and assigned 75MB max storage to his account, and
thought i'd probably get an error saying I had
exceeded the max amount - but it accepted it. . .am I
understanding this wrong?

Thanks for your help in advance - I'm almost ready to
"open for business" and get some clients on this
server to pay for it!

Blessings,
Fred McKinnon, HPP HOSTING
