Just checked the cobalt RaQ3 download page <knocks self on head trying to remember if that's what system you said you have> http://www.cobalt.com/support/download/raq3.eng.html
There was a new update put up on the 14th of this month.. Last version may have installed incorrectly.. not sure if this is the problem or if you've been had, how they got in.. but worth a look...
Not sure how you're hooked to the net.. I'm in a server farm and found that I don't need to run the DNS server to get to the site. Farm provides the routing to my machine and the machine handles the virt's from there.. It's now turned OFF as is Telnet.. Would probably be a good idea to keep FTP turned off as well.. though, I do not know if any of this really helps or not.. I'm still holding my breath that it doesn't happen again!!
Symptoms were DNS warning light on control panel, Telnet down.. no other obvious symptoms.. Backup from file did not solve it.. solution was Restore Disk treatment...
