A wonderful idea, Dan. I don't trust such programs to automatically
install updates on any of the platforms (and for any of the software) I
run. But too let me know it's available... a wonderful idea. We
already implement this on our Mailtraq software for NT and W2K; whenever
a new build is posted to the build directory, the server sends an email
to the admin, letting her/him know it's available, and what it updates.
(Of course it has to be well-written; Red Hat 7 has become infamous
because it's automatic update program, when installed, crashes every new
Red Hat 7 system a week after installation <wry grin>.)
