[cobalt-users] All my software disappeared - RaQ3
I have a RaQ3 hosted in the UK. I have recently noticed that all software updates that have been installed on the server have disappeared from the list in the Server Administration panel.
I SUSPECT this is something to do with installing a Bind update without having the required pre-requisites. Since installing the update I have noticed it has been withdrawn from the Cobalt site because it allowed users to install it without having the required pre-requisites.
Coincidentally, my POP3 email server stopped working. This is why I contacted my ISP, who in turn contacted Cobalt Europe in the Netherlands. A guy called Jaques looked into the problem and thinks the email problem is related to the software missing from the list. He said this was caused by software updates not being installed in order.
He recommended uninstalling the software updates, and reinstalling them from the Cobalt site - in order. So, following his instructions, I set our to uninstall the packages, using the following type of command:
/RaQ3-All-System-3.0.1-6168-3.0.1-6168.uninst
but then I just get the following error:
(offline mode: enter name=value pairs on standard input)
sh: unexpected EOF while looking for `"'
sh: -c: line 2: syntax error
..and that's it. I can't seem to get back in touch with Jaques at Cobalt, and I don't know what to do next. My ISP seems to have given up! Is there ANYONE out there that can help me?
Simon
