Re: [cobalt-users] [raq4] localhost in DNS?

Hi Edwin,

I have almost the same question asked just 1 day ago. Nobody volunteerd to answer right now ;)

Please let me know if you find something interesting.

Just for Edwin in Dutch:

Hoi Edwin,

ik heb het zelfde probleem met SIDN. Ik krijg nu alleen nog de melding dat ik geen record heb voor localhost. Maar kan wel gewoon registreren als het goed is.

Groeten

Oblix

Hi all,

The Dutch domain registry authority requires its members to have 'localhost'
in their DNS, in accordance with the RFC1537 (and later the RFC1912 I
believe).. So I create a pri.localhost file in /etc/named/, I include the
file in the zonelist and restart DNS..

All seems to work like a charm according to nslookup and the Dutch domain
registry authority until I change something in the GUI.. The GUI deletes the
file completely and strikes the name from the zonelist and gone are my
settings.. <utters some ugly words>

Can anyone offer some advice?

Edwin
