Then why don't they number them that way ;)

Seriously, i have to wonder how many people thought they had all the
patches installed cause the patches all started with 3 and they saw OS-4

Not to mention the seeming nonsensical things like:

Update OS 2.0 is required before installing Update OS 3.0. 
...    OS 4.0 is required before installing Update 3.0

and

Security: BIND Update 3.0.2  is newer than
Security: User Name Update 3.0.1 which is newer than
Update: All System 3.0.2-6449 ...
