Many of NSI's competitors alread have not only a list of recently expired
names, but also a mechanism to "watch" for the ones you want. I believe a
few of them also have a "camp on" feature that automatically submits a
request for the name you've pre-registered as soon as it falls out of any
of the registry databases.
With a multitude of registrars, they are competing in more areas than
price alone.
