Re: [cobalt-users] Pop before SMPT

Hi,

i install the new Cobalt "Pop before SMPT" Patch.

This patch takes the "old" one out of the installed software list and
gives 2 new entrys in the admin interface.

So anything seems to be ok.

I do several test, and it looks like, the new patch does not work.
Anytime i send and email, it goes throug without the usual "Pop before
SMPT" warning.

Any hints?

Karl

Are you connected within an acceptable relay network/zone? It may be that the relay settings for your mail server are letting you send without needing to POP before SMTP.

Have you sent from multiple connections (LAN, multiple dial-up accounts)? Does it work for all of them without POP?

Also, sometimes it takes a while before you need to re-POP (over 15 minutes?). Are you certain that you've waited a sufficient amount of time before trying to send?
