Re: [cobalt-users] detailed instructions for IMP (WebMail)?

The RaQ4 that I'm trying to get this working on is _not_ an i386 compatible; but rather a mips. I cannot use any of the RPMs I find ('cause they're all for the Intel architecture). Of the five things I need to install:

1) apache 1.3.12 or greater
2) MySQL or PostgreSQL
3) php 3.x or greater
4) Horde
5) IMP

I'm stuck at step two. I tried using the MySQL source tarball and doing the configure -> make -> make install; but there were errors in the build (make) process....

As mentioned before, all of the RPMs I find (e.g. at ftp.cobaltnet.com) are not for the mips architecture.

Soooo, If someone could point me to the right place to find MySQL for the mips (or PostgreSQL) I would truly appreciate it. If someone has done this before on a mips, and can offer pointers, please do!

TIA,

Mike

PS: I even tried to install some of the RPMs I did find. Either they failed 'cause it said wrong architecture, or 'cause there were lots of dependency failures (stuff named something like libc.60.so (maybe it was libc 20 & libc 21?) and a whole bunch of others....

Hi Mike,

I installed Horde/IMP 2.2.3 and it works fine!

Will be all right.

The .rpm is a pre-release and told to be beta. So, take the tar ball.

It really doesn't matter where you install horde/imp: Just follow the
instructions.

I can only tell, MySQL is working great.

If you follow the instructions step by step, there will be no problem. Set
up PHPLIB as mentioned in the installantion guide, especially if you run
PHP3. There are only two setting in the php.ini and possibly some in the
auto-prepend file (prepend.php3, I think).

If you do anything wrong, the horde framework will tell you while trying.

Good luck!
