Hello,
Recently my Cobalt RaQ4 has stopped allowing telnet and FTP connections from
certain but not all hosts. My hosts.allow and hosts.deny files are empty.
The connection is closed before users even have the chance to authenticate.
I have tried connecting with and without TCP Wrappers. The only difference
is that my connection is closed faster when not running through tcpd.
Running in.telnetd on a different port (in debug mode) allowed me to connect
successfully from a host that doesn't work on port 23. So my telnet daemon
works fine.
It acts just like hosts.deny is disallowing connections, but like I said,
hosts.deny and hosts.allow are empty. I did mess around with them before,
but now they're empty. Also, running in.telnetd without TCP Wrappers
produces the same result.
Thanks for any advice,
Mark
