Huh? Gerald, why two MX records? In his case, only one for
smtp.domain.com would make sense, right?
I use two MX records this way:
domain.com High-Priority smtp.domain.com
domain.com Low-Priority backup.domain.com
backup.domain.com is an SMTP server at my home (on a totally different
network) so that when (not if, when) the !$#! hits the fan at the NOC,
all mail will be instead received by backup.domain.com and queued until
the primary server is up again. Note that this is also a good thing to
do with DNS.
