LOL! *I* knew what you meant ;)

This is a very hard thing on this list, there is a huge diversity of folks
here, it's frustrating at times, there are people here who have been
administering unix on multiple platforms for large groups of machines who
have a great dead of expertise, and folks who bought a used machine off of
ebay yesterday and are still trying to find the power switch. I have no
idea what the answer is except to take a shot and have a thick skin -}

The bad side is it can, from time to time be dangerous, if i tell you to
'remove' a file from a directory, you will probably be prudent and 'move'
it somewhere else, but some folks will just delete it ;)

If i give you step by step instructions on how to delete a file you will
probably be a bit annoyed
;) It's no-win sometimes ;0

But keep doing it Carrie , folks who read a book or two but still don't
'get it' will sometimes sound like they have the necessary background for
a complex procedure, only to email you back telling you they just did
something increadably stupid -/

The knowledgable need to learn a bit of patience, IMHO it never hurts to
have a bit of 'extra' detail, but it can be lethel to be missing the one
important detail you didn't know ..

LOL...I was riding with someone once who suddenly swerved into a gas
station...what are you doing? "I need oil" ?? how did you decide that?
"The light came on" ...ouch
