Hi Guys,
Are Sun/Cobalt QA doing a better job with Qube3 updates than has been our
experience with previous products?
This morning I took a freshly restored Qube3 and installed the currently
available BlueLinQ updates on it ... since then I've had nothing but trouble
and it seems to be related to FTP (which was one of the updates). Just
using my FTP client to wander around the Qube causes it to drop ALL IP
services ... telnet, dns, ftp, imap, appleshare, etc I have similar
connections with other boxes live at the time and none of them are affected
so I'm pointing the finger at the updated version of proftpd which was only
release a couple of days ago ...

On the positive side the Qube still responds to ping and the rear control
panel still functions so a proper reboot or shutdown is possible.
Has anyone else had problems with ftp taking out ALL IP services after
applying this update?
Mind you the downed services seem to come back after a while, except ftp
which remains down.
I guess I'll just restore the Qube3 and try again without the latest
updates.
Cheers, Malcolm
