Now please clarify your question, if you don't mind, 'cos I for one see
ambiguities that profoundly influence the answer

Are you saying that you *have* a hit counter that isn't working and need
some pointers to get it working?
OR
are you asking; "What hit counter would be a good one to use?"
OR
are you saying that *no* hit counter you have tried thus far will work???
I'm not being facetious, but understanding what you really need is clearly
a prime requirement.
