In a typical catch 22: you need a certain amount of base
knowledge to use the archive effectively. These are people buying
servers because Cobalt told them they don't have to know anything
about unix at all. They have likely never heard of sendmail,
apache, bind, named, cron, qpopper, SMTP and a whole host of
other terms. You'll never get an answer from the archive if you
don't know what to search for. I've used the archives hundreds of
time, and quite frankly, the search function isn't that great,
and it's not unusual to get conflicting information when you do
manage to find something.

I don't see a chain around your ankle. If you don't want to
answer people's questions, then don't. Telling other people not
to answer them as well is plain petty. If you don't like what's
being asked and answered, unsubscribe. It's a completely public
list anyway, you don't need to be getting all the emails in your
box to have the benefit of this list.
