I'm not sure it is a lie. When I got my first Raq - I didn't know any
'Linux' at all. Still don't know very much - I can edit files and move stuff
around, I understand the boot process - other than that I don't know diddly
about it - but I can follow instructions. I'm not sure DNS configuration,
ASP security holes, Apache conf files could be called 'Linux' anyway. Sure,
we do all these things on a Linux box, but practically the only "Linux" were
doing is logging in cd'ing around and running our text editors... The rest
is configuration of applications and services that happen to run on Linux.

If tech support have to talk you through using a Telnet session, to do
something then what's the big deal? Are you saying that if I call tech
support, and tell them I don't know what a Telnet session is - they won't
help? They might bang their heads on the desk a bit, but I bet the they
could talk my mother through it (gulp!) if they had to...

I don't know for certain, but I bet to fix any problem on a cobalt box that
is not hardware related, you can use the OS Restore CD (that has
instructions in the readme, that you don't need to know Linux to follow) and
the package upgrade in the GUI to reset it back to factory default +
patches. If this configuration doesn't do what it its supposed to, then
that's another issue...
