I'm not saying I agree with the OP, but come on, "Thats how Microsoft do it"
is a pretty poor defense...
Compensation is a ridiculous idea really - If you wanted to try and convince
a court that you were unaware of the risks of putting a linux box on the
web, and that Cobalt mislead you into believing it was 100% secure and that
there was no risk to your data then good luck! Hacks happen. Cobalt need to
be a bit more proactive in letting us know about things, and their turn
around on patches needs to be a bit faster, but that's as far as it goes.
Even then, I'm not sure Cobalt broadcasting to a public list detailed
instructions for accessing the root passwords of its client servers is such
a good idea...
