Not necessarily true, Craig.
I just ran through a "Live CDROM File System" burned By Slackware Linux,
Inc., and distributed by BSDi (makers of both FreeBSD and BSDi Server [a
commercial unix system]), and found 1,596 files dated various dates in
December of 1996.
