I've had one co-located now for 2 months, and although there are problems,
it has been a wonderful product and has worked reasonably well. There are a
few really annoying problems that can be worked around with some tedium, but
the product works well out of the box. If you plan to manage MANY (>20 or
so) it may be better for you to setup your own process for setting up
accounts and such, this product can do that but it is very tedious.

As far as hacks go, yes there have been many posting, but think of the
number of these boxes there are out there and how many postes there have
been. I was not attacked, my box still works, and I waited a bit before
installing the latest and greatest updates and my box is still working.

If this is something you are REALLY worried about, then co-location and a
box you have to manage yourself may not be what you are looking for. Not
being very careful with how your machine is setup could cause some problems,
security being one of them. ISPs do this for a living and it is not an easy
task for people who know what they are doing, so expecting a turn key
product that will do all of this is a bit too much to ask.
