Do: less /etc/crontab and see what entries there are (and who owns 'em!)
It is also **possible** that a user has made a crontab of their own.
In fact, if *you* have made no changes, it's almost the only other
reason this could
suddenly have started to happen...which leads me to ask if you have any
users on your machine
that have shell access.
Likely scenario:
*IF* it is a user that has cron'd something,(the crontab entry is owned
by a user)
su to the username, cd into their shell and do "crontab -r" AS THE USER
(don't do it as root, you'll
kill your entire system crontab!!)
AGAIN...only crontab -r AS THE USER!!!!
Did I forget to mention not to crontab -r as root, ONLY AS THE USER?
Please post the results of your investigation, this has me curious.
Regards,
-Colin
