I don't know if your RPM problem is similar to mine, but I had difficulty
with RPMs on the RaQ3 when I installed MySQL.  I upgraded RPM with the
following 2 files....

Install First:         bzip2-0.9.5d-2.i386.rpm  <Updates a file necessary to
install the rpm below>
Install Second:    rpm-3.0.4-0.48.i386.rpm   <Upgrades your RPM system>

Now, I would do this since this would supposedly help me, But this prompts
me to the next snippet.

When I tried to install the rpm, I get this failed to  open
//var/lib/rpm/packages.rpm
error: cannot open //var/lib/rpm/packages.rpm

If I am getting errors installing an rpm...how is an rpm going to help me?
