Actually, I'm learning how to set up a Linux server from scratch to do full virtual hosting. Jeff has already helped me with this quite a bit, and one of the things I'm doing is keeping notes.

As soon as I have my ipchains/logcheck/portsentry working properly, I'll start putting up a series of webpages on setting up individual services. The point of these pages will be to get someone off the ground as quickly as possible, not to truly educate. Instructions and pointers to real education, if you know what I mean.

These pages should cover:

* DNS (Bind 8)
* MTA (Sendmail 8)
* Apache (1.3.14)
* Secure Shell
* ProFTP
* ipchains
* ipfwadm
* Logcheck
* PortSentry
* Tripwire
* MRTG

To the extent possible, I'll try to ensure that these pages accurately differentiate between:

* Cobalt Qube 2
* RedHat 7.0
* Caldera eServer 2.3

So yes, I'm going to be busy for awhile. But I would love to have some help on this... reviewing and checking my content, and helping me with a little of the writing.
