[cobalt-users] raq4 .htaccess/webalizer weirdness

I've got webalizer running on a raq4, installed from the package.
I modified it before it installed to include the .htaccess file
which says:

#Access file
order allow,deny
allow from all
require group siteX
Authname WebStats
Authtype Basic

I'm getting very odd behaviour. Some sites, you get a failed user
authentication (according to the error log, user not found), and
on some it works perfectly. What makes this even stranger is the
users that can't get into the protected directory, can access the
/siteadmin/ with their usernames and passwords, log in and use FP
fine if it's installed, FTP with their password, etc.

Access.conf includes the AuthConfig overrride, and I can't see
any particular correlation between sites that have Frontpage
installed, and those that don't.

If someone can throw me some hints about what might be causing
this, it would be very helpful.
